Larian Studios has recently announced the addition of a crossplay feature for the much-admired game, Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian's hesitation on releasing a specific date revolves around the finer details that are still being smoothened out.

The developers are reportedly busy delivering new and exciting updates for the game. Swen Vincke, the Director, has even hinted about a potential level 13-20 experience for players and gave a sneak peek into the studio's next game.

Crossplay Feature Anticipation
News about the eagerly-awaited crossplay feature has surfaced from an interview with Larian’s Director of Publishing, Michael Douse, by Eurogamer. Douse shared the studio’s intentions, clarifying their mind set about introducing crossplay to Baldur’s Gate 3.
Douse said, “(Crossplay) was always in the planning, but we knew it wouldn’t be (ready) for launch. It’s in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready for, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”
Game Availability and Cross-Save Feature
The developers have been very focused on making the game available on all platforms before dedicating time to other features like crossplay. With the Singapore-based studio intending to release the game on Xbox in 2023, enthusiasts can look forward to an eventual feature where players on PC, PS5, and Xbox can journey together through the Forgotten Realms. The cross-save feature already implemented in the game, allows players to switch between PC and console without losing their progress.
